2/4/18 Post Cleanup Report McKinleyville Community Watch Trash Bash

February’s 90 Minute MCW Trash Bash turned out to be quite plentiful. Thank you to everyone that showed up! You all really care about your community, and that was shown with today’s trash bash. Thank you to everyone that offered their vehicles and trailers to haul trash. There were several of them today! We picked up along Murray Road, Central Avenue, the green belts on the North and South of Northwoods Mobile Home Park, behind KMart and several residential neighborhoods. The greenbelts had a lot of homeless trash and the other areas had mainly household trash. We need to really be vocal to the people that put appliances and furniture on our streets and sidewalks. Just take it to the garbage! We also picked up several tires, mattresses, and a V8 engine block. Only 3 hypodermic needles were found. Thank you McKinleyville Ace Hardware for letting Scott Binder use it to pick up some of our larger bulky items. Thank you Scott Binder for organizing this 90 minute trash bash, once again. Look forward to seeing everyone out again in two months, rain or shine! We are guestimating that the trash weight is over 2,000 lbs. We will update the weight once we get the actual number.
