PacOut Green Team will be hosting a special 90 minute cleanup this Saturday at the I street entrance to the Arcata Marsh. We will be focusing on the property owned by the City of Arcata. The City of Arcata will be providing the dumpster for the cleanup.
As you know the amount of garbage in that area is pretty massive. With our volunteers, we have an opportunity to remove a lot of it. I want to let you know that we will not be removing any items from any active homeless camps. In fact we will be working with the homeless and promoting our “Socks for Trash” campaign. We will have DHHS there with us and for every bag of trash a homeless person picks up, we will be giving them a pair of new socks. We will also be passing out hygiene kits and DHHS will be offering resources to them.
We plan on having lots of volunteers showing up for this cleanup!
We will meet at the parking just behind North Coast Regional Land Trust on South I street in Arcata. We will focus on the City of Arcata lot across the street from the parking area on South I Street. There is lots of garbage and litter out there.
Mostly abandoned homeless camps. This is a dog friendly cleanup!
We will meet at parking lot behind North Coast Regional Land Trust at 8:45 am to sign in. We will start the cleanup at 9:00 am and it will end at 10:30am. We meet for a group photo and raffle at 10:15 am.
We look forward to seeing everyone there! Tell your friends, share the link and show some love!
