Samoa Dunes and Wetlands
Location:
We will meet at the small parking area situated off New Navy Base Road, directly across from Cookhouse Road. Recently acquired by Friends of the Dunes, they have been diligently tidying up the area since taking over. This newly discovered spot offers a fantastic chance to discover the dunes and forests, a hidden gem that truly deserves more appreciation. Let’s assist Friends of the Dunes in showcasing this lovely location to the Humboldt County community!
Parking:
Please feel free to park in in the small parking area in front of the gate or park across the street on Cookhouse Road.
Cleanup Area:
We’ll be concentrating on dune/forest area the Friends of the Dunes recently acquired. There are lots of trails within that area. Explore the beautiful area and pick up trash!
Event Schedule:
We will meet at the entrance gate across from Cookhouse Road at 8:45 am to sign in. The cleanup will commence at 9:00 am and end at 10:00 am. We will gather for a group photo and raffle at 9:45 am.
We are also seeking donations for raffle items to reward our incredible volunteers. If you’re interested in contributing, we’re looking for small-dollar items and gift cards ($10-$20 value). Email us at PacOutGreenTeam@gmail.com
This year marks our 10th anniversary, and we couldn’t continue without the support of our community. Thanks to your help over the past decade, we are on track to surpass one million pounds of garbage collected.
