PacOut Green Team is a local volunteer based non-profit that conducts a weekly one hour cleanup at various locations around Humboldt and Mendocino Counties. Our team was formed in February of 2014, with our first event on Feb. 22. PacOut Green Team has completed a cleanup every week since. What began as a grass roots effort by avid outdoors people to keep our natural areas clean of trash is growing at an amazing pace. We have also collaborated with other groups and their cleanup events, such as Lost Coast Rotaract, Friends of the Dunes, McKinleyville Community Watch, ECO Eureka, and the Arcata Sunrise Rotary.

Every week PacOut Green Team, along with members of the community, assist with keeping our natural areas clean of trash, and without support from local businesses and organizations this would not be possible.

“GREEN” Sponsorship – 1 Cleanup

$100 GoFundMe Donation & Volunteers
  • Sponsor’s name will be tied to the event on all media platforms.

  • One “Event Post” and one “Post Cleanup Report” that will be shared on all our social media platforms.

$500 GoFundMe Donation & Volunteers
  • Sponsor’s name will be tied to the 6 cleanup events on all media platforms.

  • Three “Event Posts” and three “Post Cleanup Reports” that will be shared on all our social media platforms.
  • Pictures will be taken at all cleanups and used for our “Post Cleanup Reports”.

  • GREENEST Sponsor can pick one additional cleanup of their choice, in addition the six sponsored cleanups. That can be a cleanup at or around the sponsor’s physical location or an outdoor area of their choosing.

 

About the Cleanups

  1. Clean-ups: We typically meet up between 8:45am – 9:00am at the cleanup site. Look for and share the “Event” post for all the details. We give a quick cleanup briefing for new members then the cleanup begins at 9:00 and it’s over at 10:00am. We ask that people start heading back to the meeting point around 9:45am so we can gather our garbage, have a quick raffle, take a group shot and we driving away by 10:00am.
  2. We provide buckets, pickers, gloves, garbage bags, reflective vests and sharps containers for all volunteers.
  3. Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Cleanups can sometimes get a little dirty.
  4. Kids of all ages are welcome to any of our cleanups with parent, legal guardian, or accompanied by an adult.
  5. All volunteers fill out our liability release form (once a year) and sign the roster so we can take an accurate attendance. Volunteers get awarded for hitting cleanup mile makers, that is why we take attendance.
