2/1/25 – Post Cleanup Report – Herrick Park N Ride – Eureka 90 Minute Trash Bash
This was an immense cleanup effort! We successfully tackled one of the largest abandoned camps we’ve encountered! Our primary focus was on a few neglected sites. We removed a dozen broken generators, two motorcycles, hazardous chemicals, furniture, and so much more. You truly have to see the photos to believe it. Our waterfront trail should never have to endure this level of environmental damage. A heartfelt thank you to all the incredible volunteers who assisted us in cleaning up these areas and restoring our waterfront trail to its natural state. A heartfelt thank you to Los Bagels for providing coffee and bagels for our volunteers, and a big shoutout to STIL Humboldt for bringing enough prizes to share with all our volunteers.
