Post Cleanup Report – January 17, 2026

📍 Greenbelt behind Safeway, Eureka

The last time we were here was about a year ago, and we’re happy to report that it wasn’t nearly as bad this time 🙌

We focused on the area we cleaned last year and pushed farther into the greenbelt—especially spots we couldn’t reach before. In total, we removed over 1,300 lbs of trash. While that’s a huge amount, it’s still an improvement compared to last year.

Toward the end of the cleanup, we did discover a large abandoned camp deep in the greenbelt, so we may be back to address that.

A huge thank you to Real Deal Removal and Hauling for donating the dumpster—this cleanup wouldn’t have been possible without their support. And of course, thank you to our amazing volunteers who showed up and put in the work 💚

Because of you, we left this part of Eureka cleaner than we found it.
