Post Cleanup Report – Fortuna Park N Ride ♻️
For this 60 Minute Trash Bash, we focused on the usual areas around the Fortuna Park N Ride, along the Eel River, behind Burger King, and the Safeway shopping center.
At first, the trash levels seemed pretty minimal — but that quickly changed when we discovered several illegal dump sites along Eel River Drive.
While it initially looked clean behind Safeway and Burger King, we then came across a HUGE active camp tucked back there. It was massive and has clearly been there for quite some time. Because it was active, we did not remove anything from around it. (See photos in our social media posts for more context.)
We were excited to have a couple different Fortuna High School clubs join us, along with our amazing regulars and some new volunteers. Your hard work makes these cleanups possible! 💪💚
