Post Cleanup Report – Saturday, February 7th
Eureka’s 90 Minute Trash Bash
📍 Hikshari Trail | Hilfiker Lane to Herrick Park & Ride

We had an amazing turnout for this 90 Minute Trash Bash — just under 60 volunteers joined us to make a difference! 🙌

We were thrilled to have several high school clubs from Eureka High School and Fortuna High School show up alongside our incredible regulars and first-time volunteers. The energy and teamwork were truly impressive.

Our focus was the stretch of trail between Hilfiker Lane and Herrick Park & Ride, and wow — what a difference 90 minutes can make!

👏 We would like to applaud the City of Eureka for all the recent brush clearing in the area. It had been overgrown and mosquito-heavy, and the clearing made a huge improvement — significantly reducing problem areas and making the trail much more enjoyable. If you haven’t walked that section recently, go check it out!

With that said, our volunteers cleared several abandoned camps and removed large amounts of litter and debris from the newly accessible areas. Everyone worked hard, and the team effort really showed. 💪♻️
