3/31/18 Post Cleanup Report Cooper Gulch w/Sanders Funeral Home
PacOut Green Team hit up Cooper Gulch Park Saturday, April 31st for a cleanup event sponsored by Sanders Funeral Home. There were 21 awesome volunteers ready to get some trash rounded up from the trails, the disc golf course, skate park and parking area. The group rounded up an estimated 700 lb. of trash! Items recovered included 55 syringes, lots of bottles, cans, cigarette butts, candy wrappers, a piece of a skate board deck, a skate board wheel, many pounds of wet clothing and other trash from abandoned illegal camps, a couple of stuffed animals, a houndstooth hat, and a 10 ft ladder. We were able to scout out some more abandoned camps but they were way too big and had way too much trash for us to get. We will notify the proper authorities to try to have them cleaned up asap.
Big shout out to all of the awesome folks who came out to help and to Sanders Funeral Home for sponsoring this event! Big thanks to Pacific Outfitters, Bounce-A-Palooza, and Vampire Penguin-Eureka for the awesome prizes that were raffled off after the cleanup!
