10/16/18 Post Cleanup Report Redwood Creek Orick

PacOut Green Team collaborated with citizens of Orick for a special 2.5 hr event on Sunday, Oct. 14. We had 27 volunteers working in different areas around Redwood Creek, clearing trash from abandoned homeless camps before the seasonal rains come and wash it out to sea. The group was able to recover 1500 lb. of trash! Big shout out to Laura Netz and Nancy Koke for all of their hard work organizing, scheduling, providing lunch for the crew and taking care of having a dumpster provided. We had additional support from the Humboldt County Sheriffs Office and Redwood National and State Parks. This was PacOut Green Team’s first event in Orick but definitely not the last! We were impressed by the large turnout, hard work and enthusiasm of the great folks of Orick!
