Cleanup Details: This was our first collaboration cleanup with the Trail Steward Volunteers. We brought out 48 volunteers to help them the a section of greenbelt behind Aegis Treatment Center, on 1st street. There were several abandoned camps back there that needed to be cleaned up before rain pushed it all to Humboldt Bay. Thank you to EPD’s CSET Officer Gagnon for letting us fill up his truck bed with a huge “honey hole” aka abandoned camp. We put 2200 lbs in the back of his truck and filled up two 6 yard dumpsters! It was a great day!
- Volunteers: 56
- Weight: 2800 lbs (estimated weight) – 45 needles, 8 pallets, 2 mattresses, 1 kitty mansion, lots of scrap wood and metal, 3 shopping carts, drug paraphernalia, lots of abandoned clothes, and more!
