9/30/23 – Post Cleanup Report – Eureka Waterfront Trail – Walmart Parking Lot

Successful Cleanup: A Collaborative Effort

Today’s cleanup was a huge success! With the help of the Humboldt County Association of Realtors and the Homeless community, we were able to fill a 20 yard dumpster with trash. The Humboldt County Association of Realtors provided the necessary workforce to fill the dumpster, while the Homeless community helped collect trash from in and around their camps. Our Socks for Trash campaign also motivated the Homeless community by giving them a new pair of socks for every bag of trash they filled, with no limit on the number of bags. By the end of the day, the Waterfront Trail and the surrounding active camps were cleaner than ever before.

We were thrilled to have Lost Coast Populist visit us and create a video showcasing our efforts. Check out the video here: https://youtu.be/i6s1-KTLBH0?si=cztUeKX9lkOxwJph

Thank you to everyone who participated and made this cleanup a success! Remember to support the people, organizations, and businesses that work to protect our beautiful open spaces.
