3/9/24 – Post Cleanup Report – HWY 255 – Adopt A Highway
March 11, 2024
We had a fantastic turnout for our much-needed Adopt-A-Highway cleanup on Saturday, spanning from Eureka to Samoa, covering the three bridges and the islands in between, where a significant amount of litter accumulates. It is crucial to remove it before it reaches the bay and drifts into the ocean since over 80% of the bay water flows out during low tide, twice a day. With 44 volunteers, including a strong presence from the CCC, we efficiently filled our truck within 60 minutes, clearing almost all the litter along the designated area. A big thank you to everyone who joined us for this special Adopt-A-Highway cleanup event.
