11/23/24 – Post Cleanup Report – HWY 255 – Adopt A Highway

The weather was on our side, and we had an excellent turnout for our Adopt-A-Highway cleanup! Due to the strong winds, we discovered plenty of trash along the road and fenceline, collecting over 800 pounds of waste. Our remote crew also tackled debris from the greenbelt behind Aegis. The three bridges leading to Samoa look significantly improved now. This cleanup is always crucial for us, given its closeness to the bay; once trash reaches the bay, it ultimately ends up in the ocean. A heartfelt thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who participated! Onward and upward! We brought out our new “garbage hauler” trailer that was donated to us by Cal Poly Humboldt.

Special appreciation goes out to Coast Central Credit Union for assisting us in cleaning up and for their generous $350 donation towards our cause!
