6/13/26 – Post Cleanup Report – Eureka Waterfront Trail – Walmart Parking Lot
โป๏ธ๐ฟ Post Cleanup Report โ Eureka Waterfront Trail (Behind Walmart) ๐ฟโป๏ธ
What a fantastic way to kick off the weekend! โ๏ธ๐
Our crew hit the Eureka Waterfront Trail behind Walmart and ended up finding a significant amount of garbage and debris throughout the area. Several active camps were present, and one camper went above and beyond by helping us clean up trash in and around his camp. In appreciation for his efforts, we provided him with one of our Survival Backpacks, made possible through a grant from Coast Central Credit Union. These packs are filled with useful supplies and are one way we can support both environmental stewardship and our community.
We were also honored to have Eureka Mayor Kim Bergel join us and roll up her sleeves alongside our volunteers. It’s always great to see community leaders actively participating and helping make a difference.
One of the highlights of the day was the number of first-time volunteers who joined us. We love seeing new faces and introducing people to the positive impact that just one hour of service can make.
In just 60 minutes, our volunteers removed more than 2,500 pounds of trash and debris, filling most of a 20-yard dumpster. That’s an incredible accomplishment and a testament to what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose.
๐ A huge thank you to all 27 volunteers who showed up and worked hard to improve this important waterfront area. Your efforts help keep garbage out of Humboldt Bay, protect wildlife, and make our public spaces more enjoyable for everyone.
