11/22/25 – Post Cleanup Report – HWY 255 – Adopt A Highway

It was a beautiful morning, and we were joined by the Humboldt Association of Realtors. They came out in force, brought raffle gift cards for our volunteers, and presented a $200 check to support our cause! Thank you so much for your continued support over the years. It takes a community to keep us going, and we couldn’t do it without you. Support the people, organizations, and businesses that support our environment.

During our cleanup, we worked along our Adopt-A-Highway section, which includes the three bridges heading out to Samoa. After the last bridge on the south side of the road, we discovered a large abandoned camp tucked into the trees. It took a big team effort to clear it out. As we were finishing, we located another, even larger abandoned camp. We ran out of time, so we’ll be returning to address that site at a later date.

Everyone did a fantastic job picking up litter and clearing abandoned camps within the hour we had. Overall, we removed an estimated 1,000 lbs of trash. Thank you!

Thanks again to everyone who showed up and put in the work. We’ll see you all next week for another cleanup!

Support the people, organizations, and businesses that support our environment!
