7/5/26 – Post Cleanup Report – Power Poles – Samoa Peninsula
🌊🧹 Our First-Ever SUNDAY Cleanup! 🧹🌊
We tried something new and held our first-ever Sunday cleanup — and we couldn’t have asked for a better turnout! 🙌
We chose Sunday because it was the day after the 4th of July, giving us a chance to tackle all the firework debris left behind along the Samoa Peninsula. And wow… there was plenty to find! 🎆
With 23 amazing volunteers, we spent just 60 minutes cleaning up the peninsula and collected an estimated 650 pounds of trash! That included lots of small litter, cigarette butts along the roadside, and plenty of both legal and illegal fireworks debris.
We also had an awesome, unexpected collaboration! We unknowingly joined forces with the Humboldt Surfrider Foundation, who were also out picking up trash along the peninsula. 🌊🤝 What a great reminder of what can happen when our community comes together!
🎟️ 2 raffle winners went home with prizes, thanks to our generous sponsors:
💚 Murphy’s Market
💚 Jitter Bean
And, as always, we are incredibly grateful for the donations that help make these cleanup efforts possible. We welcome raffle items for our volunteers as well as donations to our cleanup fund.
💳 Have a small-denomination gift card you’d like to donate? $10 gift cards are especially helpful! Please email us at pacoutgreenteam@gmail.com.
