📍 Lucas St. Greenbelt — Special Cleanup

2,500+ POUNDS OF TRASH REMOVED IN JUST 60 MINUTES! 💪🔥

This special cleanup came to us thanks to one of our local community members who noticed an area that needed some serious attention. If you see a spot between Fortuna and McKinleyville that needs a cleanup, please message us on social media or send us an email. We want to know about it!

This location had numerous abandoned homeless camps that had been left for quite some time, resulting in a significant amount of trash and debris that needed to be removed.

There was just one problem… we didn’t have a dumpster. 😬

That’s where Real Deal Removal & Hauling came to the rescue! They generously DONATED a 20-yard dumpster for this special cleanup, making it possible for our volunteers to tackle this site head-on. 🙌

And tackle it we did!

In just 60 minutes, our incredible volunteers filled the dumpster plus more, hauling heavy and bulky items up the hill and into the dumpster. 💪🗑️

One of the highlights of the day was seeing so many first-time volunteers join us! We love welcoming new faces and showing people the incredible impact that just one hour of service can have on our community. ❤️

A HUGE thank you to all 23 volunteers who showed up, got their hands dirty, and worked hard to improve this important area. Your efforts help keep garbage out of Humboldt Bay, protect wildlife, and make our public spaces more enjoyable for everyone. 🌊🐦💙
