5/3/25 – Post Cleanup Report – Special Blue Lake Cleanup along Hatchery Rd
We organized a unique 60-minute cleanup at Blue Lake, focusing on an abandoned camp and various debris in the greenbelt near Hatchery Rd and the Mad River. The turnout was impressive, and we are grateful to Real Deal Removing and Hauling for generously providing their dumpster and hauling services for this special event.
In just about 35 minutes, we managed to clean up the area! Finishing ahead of schedule, we then turned our attention to other parts of the greenbelt and the roadside, where we encountered a few active camps. One resident from an active camp joined us in cleaning up that section.
After the cleanup, we were delighted to gift her one of our “survival packs,” filled with essentials such as food, cookware, socks, a beanie, hygiene supplies, a poncho, and more. A heartfelt thank you to Coast Central Credit Union for providing the grant money for these packs!
Thank you to the Kyte family for bringing anther batch of their cookies for our volunteers! They are TO DIE FOR!
Everyone put in a tremendous effort, leaving the area in a much better state than we found it. Please remember to support the businesses and organizations that back our initiatives; they are making a direct, positive impact on our local outdoor spaces. Looking forward to seeing you all at the next cleanup!
